I’m a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in North Carolina. I currently live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have always been creative, but it was not until publishing my quilt book, Quilting from Every Angle, that I noticed what fascinated me most was the design process and the patterns found within the quilts I was making. Growing up, painting and drawing was always my go-to for an outlet. However, it was not until making quilts later in life that I discovered the joy of hand-making and exploring patterns and design through other mediums. It felt like a new door of discoveries opened before me. Because of my current home remodel and strong interest in architecture and interiors, I began to look at how art influences these spaces and how they occupy them. In 2022, I started working with clay. Just like quilts, my hands leave an imprint on the material in a way a painter leaves their strokes on a canvas. I always leave room for me to possibly work with new materials. It’s an opportunity to further explore patterns, design, and shapes.
